Fake ipods are becoming increasingly more popular on ebay. Some of the ipods being sold (most 2nd gen ipod shuffles and 3rd gen nano) on ebay are not genuine!

Here is what to look out for-
Listings that obviously make an attempt to avoid using the brand name
Listings that advertise there product as an mp3 player instead of an ipod nano/shuffle etc.
If the listing mentions that the product is an OEM, this means it is a copy of the real thing More »

Anyone who has bought or are thinking of buying dvds from ebay will face this problem. Particularly anime dvds, they sell like hot cakes, especially the popular series, can go for quite a bit, so that auction that seems cheap seems tempting, thats what they want you to think, now, don’t get me wrong, I am not saying all are like that, there are probably loads of legit sellers, but facing problems due to the pirate sellers. I wouldn’t mind myself selling some of the older stuff in my collection that I no longer watch or have watched that many times I can repeat what they say or say exactly what is happening just by listening to the sound, but seriously, why bother, I’d have to sell them dirt cheap, in which case, I might as well keep them. You ever bought a CD or DVD off ebay only to realise that it is a copy when it turns up?

Well, I have – and for a start – its ILLEGAL, so that kinda puts you one step up over the seller! Even if the seller (however descretely) indicates in the listing that the item is copied, dont think you have to foot the loss and keep it – FAR FROM IT! Just email them and tell them that you require a refund on the grounds that they have commited copyright infringement! And more fool them if they refuse to refund your money!! More »

This guide applies to Region2 UK specification DVDs only and has been written to help buyers avoid the pirate sellers making pots of money by selling rubbish on ebay to unsuspecting buyers. Despite their claims, Ebay do not make any attempts to prevent piracy and work extremely slowly to remove pirate listings when advised. BUYERS BEWARE. More »

The U.S. government estimates that less than 1/100 of 1 percent of U.S. paper currency in circulation is counterfeit. Considering recent advances in printing technology and the obviously vast incentive to counterfeit bills, that’s a pretty small number. In part, that’s because the U.S. Secret Service thoroughly investigates all reported counterfeiting cases, and because there are harsh criminal penalties for counterfeiting or passing fake bills. Perhaps more than anything, though, counterfeiting is difficult because of the bills’ security features, which are hard to reproduce but easy to use to verify your money’s authenticity. More »

Although items like clothing and shoes are frequently counterfeited, many would doubt that people would go to the trouble of faking make up. But they do. The cosmetics industry generates several billion pounds a year, including skincare and grooming products, where the male market continually grows. With that kind of money to be made, it’s no wonder there’s a big trade in fakes, with leading brands being ripped off daily, to the point where L’Oreal filed suit against Internet auction site eBay for allowing so many counterfeit sales.
