recently made a bulk purchase of Gillette Fusion Power blades and was surprised at how poorly they shaved, how they fit and how they aged (after being exposed to water.)  Upon careful inspection and a comparison to a package of genuine blades purchased at the local chain drugstore, I realized I had, in fact, purchased counterfeit blades!  The old adage, “if it seems too good to be true” still applies, most of the time, so I should have been suspect simply from the price.  Nevertheless, there are simple ways to identify (at least at this time) genuine Fusion Power blades from the counterfeit fakes. Counterfeit Flat Irons Damage Hair and Cause Safety Concerns

Replica flat irons may appear to be the real deal, but they soon malfunction or stop working completely. They also lack safety features and higher quality materials.

Hair straighteners have become important styling tools for women and it can be very frustrating when a flat iron doesn’t work as well as advertised or stops working in a year or less. It can also be damaging to hair when the metals and coatings on these flat irons are cheaper materials instead of ceramic, tourmaline, titanium or other high quality materials, as the buyer is led to believe. Hi. I just brought some replica GHD’s off a site.

The site didn’t advertise them as “GHD’s” so didn’t break the trade mark. they were adverised as MK4 IV Styler, an the picture looked like GHD’s.

I got them today and checked the serial number online and was told they were fake.

Did the company break the law?

They were’n't advertised as GHD’s, but when I got them they looked exactly the same, had the same features as advertised on the site, and had the GHD logo on them. More »

Why shouldn’t I buy a fake ghd styler? Due to the poor quality construction and lack of safety checks, fake goods are dangerous and can cause electrocution, serious burns and hair damage. Plus, only genuine ghd stylers carry our 2-year guarantee, meaning if your fake ghd styler stops working we won’t be able to help you repair it. What is ghd doing about this problem? ghd invests significantly to protect its intellectual property rights through a zero tolerance approach to the salRead More...

The GHD IV hair straightener is one of the most popular flat irons in the world. Named Cosmopolitan’s 2008 “Best Hairstyling Gadget” and with GHD’s turnover now exceeding £100 million per year, the product has grown from its cult following earlier in the decade to become one of the most sought-after hair straighteners available. Hi, welcome to my guide. I’m writing it in hope of making more buyers aware of cheap, fake, bootleg, pirated (however you want to put it) Nintendo DS games that are slowly flooding eBay. Many of you buyers may have already noticed. It was bound to happen, it was just a matter of time. I see many eBayers everyday buying fake DS games off sellers I’m 100% certain are dodgy. Fake DS games have absolutely no re-sell value and if you do get caught out and buy a fake DS game and try to re-sell it on eBay, you could get in trouble, so it’s best to try and avoid them from the start. This issue makes buying DS games on eBay difficult and sometimes frustrating and so hopefully my guide will help all of you out a bit. More »

It can be really hard to tell the fake Nintendo Wii from Real Nintendo Wii’s

Price
A huge clue is the price, fakes are usually a lot cheaper than the genuine article.

But there are other things to look out for:

The box
Fakes usually don’t come with all the proper information and accessories, so they often come in SMALLER boxes. More »

For all DS Noobs amongst us thinking of making their first DS game purchase

Yes, after spending money on two pirated games which were advertised as genuine, I got miffed and did a bit of research into the underground world of DS pirating. Whilst not really talked about as much as, say, Playstation games or Xbox and Xbox 360 games, it would appear that the pirate DS game market is thriving. More »
