That would depend on a lot of things. If it’s a really good fake (that’s about 15% of the fakes out there), there is no difference between the fake and the original. The pj is the same, the frame is the same, etc, etc, etc. The only way to tell is if the racquet has a serial number (ex. on the plastic covering for the grip) and call up the racquet company. For the not-so-great fakes, there are different things to look for. If you’re buying a racquet online, good luck. Most cRead More...
Wilson frames made in the USA have the hologram and the grip size sticker on them. Imitation or knocks off made in Asia don’t have the grip size sticker and may not have the hologram. It’s difficult to say for most brands since China is where 90% of frames are made. I hear that only 3 major manufacturers or factories make all the frames that get made there. Some are just not 100% to spec so they get side binned and then backdoored out to the grey market or knock off sellers. If yoRead More...
About a year ago I wrote an article about a fake Babolat Pure Drive and how fake tennis racquets being passed off as genuine item. A year has passed and the counterfeit tennis racquet industry has grown even more in prominence and stature. It has now even got to the point where buyers are scrutinizing each and every aspect of the racquet especially if they intend to purchase 2nd hand or used tennis racquet from an online tennis forum, online auction site or from a racquet trader. Looking at tRead More...

I have been reading Guides on the subject of BABOLAT TENNIS RACKETS. I contacted BABPLAT and the following are FACKS! #1 BABOLAT RACKETS are made in China! #2 BABOLAT RACKETS do come stung if you want them that way, the largest seller in the Midwest is Dick’s sporting goods, I was told they get most Rackets in PRE-STUNG! I Was told to watch for sellers making claims that they do not come strung because they are cheaper unstrung and ARE JUST TRYING to get you to buy from them. Nice TRead More...
RallyTennis.com – Determining the Proper Grip Size After hours and hours of comparing numerous frames, you’ve found the one for you - the one that will accentuate your strengths and hide your weaknesses (if you had any!). But selecting the wrong grip size can negate the fruits of your tireless labor. In fact, there’s no quicker way to playing sub-par, frustrating tennis then by using a racquet with the wrong grip. Do you really know what grip is best for you? FirstRead More...
There are a lot of fake K Factor Team 95’s listed. I checked with Wilson and the Team 95’s were never sold pre-strung or with racquet cases. The obvious fakes have 8 strings in the throat (real ones have six) and have shared holes on the head of the racquets. Additionally, the ones I purchased had the wrong UPC code (they had the code for the 1/4 grip while the ones I was sold had 3/8 grips), wrong colored tape holding the grip on (should be white and they had black), and they diRead More...
Buying a tennis racquet can be a very daunting task. There are so many companies and all have a wide variety of frames from which to choose. My hope is that this guide will make it a little easier. There are three major categories: Power or Game Improving Racquets, Tweener Racquets and Control or Player’s Racquets. Power or Game Improving Racquets are power oriented racquets. Many of these racquets have oversize to super oversize head, approximately 107 – 135 square inches and areRead More...
I remember when i started out picking my first tennis racquet, I didn’t know which brand i should go with. I was clueless back then. Then after my first one I’ve decided to do research in picking my next one. Yada yada yada, This is not a professional guide but rather tips to help you pick out a racquet for yourself. If you’ve read the first tennis guide on ebay about tennis racquet, you’ll get a great deal of knowledge on strings so i wont go into that. the first thRead More...
The Head Prestige Pro 600, a brown-fading-to-red Euro-release tennis racquet from from the late 80s through early 90s, is generally regarded as a ‘holy grail’ players’ frame, particularly in great condition. Head still makes a Prestige mid based on this model, and the Pro 600 was used by probably 25%-30% of the world’s male pros of that era. I write this guide because I’ve seen on more than one occasion sellers auctioning FAKE versions of this model (beforRead More...
